Order requests and enquiries

When you send an order request or enquiry, we collect the details you provide, including your name, address, postcode, email address, phone number, order requirements and collection preference.

Why we use it

We save this information to process and respond to your request, confirm product availability, arrange collection, communicate about secure payment links sent separately, and maintain order records. This applies whether or not you choose the optional marketing checkbox. We do not take or store card details through this website.

Free recipe book requests

When you request the free seafood recipe book, we collect your email address and, if provided, your first name. We use this information to send a private, time-limited download link. The recipe book is not provided through a permanent public download link.

Keeping in touch

We send fish-van updates, news, occasional offers and recipe ideas only when you actively tick the optional marketing checkbox. We record the consent wording, version, source, date and time. Leaving the checkbox unticked does not prevent us from delivering your requested recipe book or processing an order.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email must include a clear unsubscribe option. When you unsubscribe, we keep a protected suppression record so your email address is not accidentally included in future marketing exports. You can also use the Contact page to ask us to unsubscribe you.

Data-retention period

Customer, order, enquiry and recipe-book records are retained for 10 years, as approved by The Grimsby Fish Company, before secure deletion is scheduled. This page does not claim legal compliance.

Analytics cookies

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics is optional: its tag does not load unless you choose “Accept analytics”. If you reject analytics, the site still works normally. This choice is separate from any email marketing consent.

When accepted, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* and receive information about website visits. We use the Google Analytics measurement ID G-GBCVEYDHGS. The choice is remembered in your browser so we do not ask on every page. You can change it at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Rejecting after acceptance stops further analytics loading and clears Google Analytics cookies we can access on this site.
